Learning Scratch in a prison

Observable changes when learning scratch.

Summary:

We have found that the influence of being working with Scratch goes beyond motivation and learning how to program (also important). Some of the professionals that work in the prison (not part of the investigation) reported changes in the behaviour of the prisoners who took part in the experiment. They observed a change in how prisoners organised themselves, they worked in a more logical way and it also benefited their communication. This effect was observed for several days after the Scratch sessions.

There is currently not sufficent data to scientifically demonstrate the changes in behavior & the thinking process but it felt there were some observable changes and Scratch is the likely influence
